What is level 4 and why do I need it?

Level 4
Level 4

There is a lot of confusion and mis-information over the new rulings on education/Level 4. Our Level 4 courses have been made in response to recommendations originally made by the Keogh Report, and from the HEE, to raise standards in our industry. A suggestion that all micropigmentation and micro-needling practitioners should have a Level 4 education has been taken up and enforced by insurance companies and local councils.

Our level 4 courses are split down into their procedural grouping for one very good reason. Micropigmentation is an overall term used in our industry, but one course doesn’t fit all.

The implantation of pigment into the scalp for example, the level of understanding of the physical as well as physiological effects of hair loss and the unique characteristics of the skin on the scalp are greatly different to that on the lip, brow or areola. Our level 4 education therefore focuses on the differences and increasing your learning and understanding of these vital elements under the correct course pathway.

Many technicians are calling, needing Level 4 courses, as a matter of urgency. We have spent many months compiling our courses so that we are here and ready with the required learning process for your streamlined learning needs.

It is our understanding that it will never be law as it will not be submitted to parliament.

Local councils & insurance companies may decide to enforce the guidelines. Check with them first to see if this applies to you.
In principle yes, but you would need to ensure that you are operating within a council’s regulations and with insurance that has not implemented the new guidelines.

No, we offer a range of courses to fit in with prior learning – contact us for more details.

This would be for your council and insurance company to let you know as each one has a different criteria.
All Level 4 programmes must follow the same rules, so they will be comparative. Remember, this is not a one course fits all. Ensure that the company you acquire your level 4 with understands the importance of a level 4 in the correct procedural application.
