Can you have semi-permanent eyeliner done if you have glaucoma?

In the episode, Kelly and Stefanie discuss whether those with glaucoma can have semi-permanent eyeliner. Glaucoma is a common eye condition where the optic nerve, which connects the eye to the brain, becomes damaged. It’s caused by fluid building up in the front of the eye, increasing pressure inside the eye. You can find out more on the NHS website. With further research and consultation with our trainers, those with glaucoma should not have eyeliner done due to the pressure we put on the eyeball when stretching. They will be very sensitive and swell as they would already have very high ocular pressure. The increased pressure can be very damaging so it is important for the client to refer to their doctor for further consent to the application of eyeliner.

Stefanie’s tip: Spend your money on someone who does a lot of eyeliner! If you’re interested in Semi-permanent eyeliner, you can check out our Eyeliner Training course.
